Abstract

Objective: The present study aimed to analyze data on violence against women from 2018 to 2021, covering the pre-pandemic period and the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This was a cross-sectional analytical study with a quantitative approach. The data were collected from the databases of the Information System for Notifiable Diseases (SINAN), grouped into spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, in which the descriptive analysis was performed. Results: The results obtained from compulsory notifications in the SINAN form showed that women are the main victims of interpersonal violence. It was shown that the domestic environment may not be the safest place for women, as a large part of violence against women is perpetrated by family members, especially current or former intimate partners. Regarding care, it was evidenced that women tend to seek care only after suffering physical violence, leaving other types of violence that may occur simultaneously with it underreported. Conclusion: The professional responsible for providing care must have a holistic view of the patient, perceiving the different types of violence associated with the situation, as well as knowledge of the correct completion of the SINAN form, in order to generate important data for the knowledge of the population served and future interventions.
