Abstract

As companies become more dependent on technology, effective project management becomes more relevant. The objective of this work was to identify the practices of the Kanban project management methodology in healthcare services. Qualitative, descriptive, integrative review research was used, following the steps proposed by Vargas Delgado et al (2020), in the Scopus academic database, due to its multidisciplinary nature. As a result, it was identified that the work addresses two main benefits: improvement in bed turnover and improvement in health service supply chain management. The first occurs because there is greater control and visualization of bed occupancy and, therefore, this allows for greater availability; reduction of length of stay in hospitalizations; higher hospital discharge rates; cost reduction; fewer deaths and transfers to another sector. The second involves optimizing nursing work, more organized storage, less space needed for storage, fewer expired items, increased internal customer satisfaction and incorporation of most products into the system.
