Abstract

Introduction: Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC) is a rarer subtype of breast cancer that originates in the mammary lobules, possessing distinct clinical characteristics and risk factors more closely related to hormonal exposure. Case report: This study describes the clinical case of a 62-year-old patient undergoing hormone replacement therapy, who, during a self-breast examination, identified a palpable mass in the right breast. Imaging tests and a biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of ILC, characterized as moderately differentiated and with positive hormonal receptors. The patient underwent a total right mastectomy, as well as adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment. Conclusion: This case report aims to enhance the understanding of ILC, providing relevant information about its clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and practical approach to this specific form of breast cancer.
