Abstract

ABSTRACT | Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by coronavirus has affected many people since its emergence and has a direct impact on the mental health of the population and especially health professionals.  Objective: To evaluate the levels of stress, anxiety and depression in Physiotherapists and correlation with the level of physical activity. Methodology: It is a cross-sectional study with 31 physical therapists of both sexes. The Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale was used to assess stress, anxiety and depression symptoms, in addition to a questionnaire with questions about the personal profile. To assess the level of physical activity, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire was used in its short version. Results: Physiotherapists aged b 22 and 54 years reported a prevalence of stress symptoms (64.5%) in relation to depression (48.3%) and anxiety (29%). Of the sample, 45.2% were classified as physically active. There was no association between physical activity level and symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. Conclusion: Given the results, it is concluded that strategies to monitor, prevent and manage stress should be implemented to minimize the effects of cumulative stress in physiotherapists.
