Abstract

Recognizing the importance and rapid rise of healthtechs, this article presents the foundations and results of surveying the difficulties encountered by health managers to implement technological innovation in the sector. To this end, data collection, treatment, description and problematization were carried out through exploratory qualitative research, carried out with semi-structured interviews, using a content analysis approach. In order to have a closer overview of the reality of health management, 6 (six) Chief Executive Officers of healthtechs were approached, who were subjected to seventeen subjective questions. The main objective was, therefore, to analyze these difficulties, with regard to technological innovation for these startups, from the perspective of the interviewees. As main results, technical difficulties were observed for operationalization, such as sector conservatism, etc.; legal obstacles to implementation, treated as a necessary bureaucracy, because it provides security and data protection to the patient/client, and difficulties in Organizational Culture, which bring together the absence of leadership, strategic planning and budgetary limitations. Finally, the urgency to invest in additional education, training, acquisition of equipment and improve knowledge in leadership, management, governance and innovation was concluded.
