Abstract

Starting from the understanding of the importance of verifying the knowledge of mathematics teachers about dyscalculia, since it is the teacher who lives with the student weekly, being able to provide opportunities for referral to professionals who can carry out the diagnosis and promote guidelines for carrying out in an adequate pedagogical intervention. This study will identify the knowledge of teachers in the early grades of a basic education school about dyscalculia. The research was carried out through the application of a questionnaire, applied to teachers working in the initial series of a public school in the city of Urussanga, in the State of Santa Catarina. The present study shows that the topic is not sufficiently addressed in continuous training, although all respondents claimed to have knowledge about the disorder.
