Abstract

This article presents, from a historical-philosophical point of view, reflections on scientific rationality as a contemporary problem that permeates Education. Grounded in the field of Philosophy of Science, it seeks connections with epistemological theoretical contributions that envision a committed and responsible Education, which takes a stand against the invisibilities that education promotes in the name of a scientific rationality and an Education that concerned with a future of scientific doing. From Kant to Jean-Marc Ela, the theoretical references of this paper involve thinkers such as Kant, Nietzsche, Habermas, Foucault and Boaventura Sousa Santos. Finally, the text invites the readers to reflect on the possibility of a science that values diversity and that recognizes the subtleties of epistemological racism embedded in scientific rationality.
