Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to analyze the struggle for trans people to enter and remain at university, highlighting the importance of the dispute over knowledge in this process. We dialogue mainly about perspectivism and transfeminism, arguing that the construction of strategies to increase the presence of the trans population in higher education has the objective of influencing the knowledge produced there. Our research is qualitative in nature, based on an analysis of interviews with subjects who took part in social pre-university exams for trans* people. We also present an overview of affirmative actions and bills aimed at giving trans people access to universities. In our conclusions, we point out that understanding the struggle for trans people's access to university is an action that seeks both to repair a group that has been the target of specific violence and processes of exclusion and to recognize it as a producer of knowledge.
