General Presentation Criteria

Manuscripts must be unpublished both nationally and internationally and must not be under review elsewhere.

Each article may have up to three authors, with at least one holding a doctoral degree.

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively to RDHS and may not be submitted simultaneously to another journal.

Articles may be written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish; abstracts must be in English for articles written in Portuguese and Spanish. Authors are solely responsible for grammar and spelling review.

Anonymity and confidentiality are ensured throughout the evaluation process. Manuscripts must comply with the editorial policy and Author Instructions, which follow ABNT guidelines. In exceptional cases, the Editorial Team may accept articles in Italian and French.

Ethical Considerations

The manuscript must include a statement confirming compliance with ethical standards and a copy of the approval from the relevant local Ethics Committee (according to Resolution No. 196/1996 of the National Health Council for research involving humans and Federal Law No. 11.794/2008 – Arouca Law – for research involving animals), or a justification for the absence of such approval, explaining the ethical precautions taken by the author(s) (if it does not violate current Brazilian legislation).

General Specifications

The Human Rights and Society Journal (RDHS) is published semiannually, with a continuous submission flow and uninterrupted publication, with no predefined limit on the number of articles per issue.

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the UNESC Electronic Journal System (SEER), available at: [https://periodicos.unesc.net/ojs/index.php/dirhumanos/about/submissions].

A tutorial for manuscript submission is available at: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bL3nUezX2OwbT6jI9txSa9WsvmaSRL5b/view?usp=sharing].

Upon receipt of the manuscript, the Editor-in-Chief will forward it to the Editor responsible for the relevant subject area. If approved during the preliminary evaluation, the manuscript will be sent to two ad hoc reviewers, selected for their recognized academic expertise in the article's field.

Reviewer opinions will be classified as 'approved,' 'approved with revisions,' or 'rejected.' In the event of differing evaluations, the responsible Editor will decide whether to approve or reject the article or may forward it to a third ad hoc reviewer.

Only manuscripts with at least one author holding a doctoral degree will be considered for publication.

Formatting Guidelines

The submission of the manuscript to the Editorial Board of the Human Rights and Society Journal (RDHS) must be done exclusively through the UNESC Electronic Journal System (SEER).

Submitted manuscripts must not contain any identifying information to preserve the integrity of the double-blind peer-review process. Information such as full names, academic titles, institutional affiliation, email address, and ORCID must be entered directly into the SEER system and will be added to the final approved version.

Up to three authors per article are accepted, including both Brazilian and foreign researchers. If more authors are necessary, the corresponding author must formally justify this to the Editorial Board.

Formatting and Length

Manuscripts submitted to the Human Rights and Society Journal must be unpublished, written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, and comply with current official spelling norms. The text structure must follow the editorial guidelines for each type of submission described on the journal's website.
