About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Journal of Socioeconomic Development in Debate (RDSD in Portuguese) is a biannual journal originated in the Graduate Program in Socioeconomic Development at the Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC). With an interdisciplinary focus, the RDSD aims to create a qualified space for debates among the various fields of knowledge, especially the Humanities and Applied Social Sciences. In this sense, the journal will accept original texts from interdisciplinary themes that establish connections between socioeconomic development, resulting from dialogues established among the economic, political, social, environmental, cultural, technological, scientific or other spheres.
Therefore, in each of its issues, the journal aims to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge related to socioeconomic development; and offer to the reader approaches of the main themes debated in the area, which will be done through dossiers, articles, and reviews, produced by researchers and professionals interested in the field of Socioeconomic Development.
The focus and scope of the journal seek to promote the consolidation of PPGDS in the scientific community, especially within the Postgraduate Programs in the Interdisciplinary field. The contribution of the journal also lies in the consolidation of the Program itself, through the exchange of ideas and joint productions. Seeking to establish connections between the local and the global, we accept articles written in Portuguese, English, and Spanish with the purpose of spreading interdisciplinary research, originated in several spaces that have Socioeconomic Development as their research theme.
Peer Review Process
The submitted manuscripts will be received through the online system of the journal (periodicos.unesc.net).
Then, they will be preliminarily analyzed (scope and norms) by the editorial team, which will opt for the main editor peer review decision or will send them to invited Ad hoc reviewers/evaluators, who have established competence in the area of knowledge of the manuscript, evaluating it in the blind peer review system.
The editors will send a message to the designated evaluators containing the title and abstract of the submission, as well as an invitation to access the journal's system to start the task and carry out the evaluation. The evaluators access the system to agree to carry out the evaluation, then carry out the transfer of the document to their personal computer, submit their comments and define a recommendation.
The results will be expressed as "approved", "approved after suggested corrections", or "disapproved". In case of a positive and a negative result, the Editor will decide and/or send, if necessary, the manuscript to a third Ad hoc reviewer.
