Abstract

This article proposes to discuss the performance of equine therapy for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the city of Cícero Dantas/BA. Understanding that the action acts as a facilitator of the educational practice, we perceive that the practice contributes as a trigger in the decrease of anxiety, increase of concentration and focus on attention. Also, it is an interventional method that uses the horse as a kinesiotherapeutic resource within a multidisciplinary approach in the areas of riding, education and health, promoting the re-education and motor and mental rehabilitation of the practitioner. Thus, this brief study seeks to discuss how equine therapy can help in the treatment of children with ASD and how it can contribute to teaching-learning.
