Abstract

Aspects such as climate change, poverty and food security converge in the environmental, social and cultural contexts of developing regions and increasingly influence the decision to migrate. The work focuses its analysis on the manifestations exposed from the combination of these elements and their complexity in Guantanamo. Methodologically, documentary analysis and descriptive statistics based on comparative and descriptive methods support the discussion presented. The research shows a complex dynamic in relation to climate migration and displacement, current and trend of the subject with a focus on management for sustainable development, therefore the need for mechanisms for its management considering the complexities of the context.

Anaily Muñoz Padilla, Universidad de Guantánamo

Lic. en Sociología 2009, Máster en Manejo Integrado de Zonas Costeras 2014. Temas de interés: migraciones climáticas, políticas públicas, gestión del desarrollo.

Mariurka Maturell Ruiz , Universidad Estadual de Santa Catarina

Licenciada en Historia del Arte (2003) por la Universidad de Oriente, Cuba. Magíster en Estudios Cubanos y del Caribe por la Universidad de Oriente, Cuba (2015) y Doctora en Historia por la Universidad Federal de Santa Catarina (2021). Es miembro del Observatorio de Migraciones de la UDESC, del Laboratorio de Estudios de Historia Africana (LEHAf) de la UFSC, y de la Cátedra de Estudios Afrocaribeños (CEA) de la Universidad de Guantánamo-Cuba. Fue profesora superior de la Universidad de Guantánamo entre 2003 y 2017. Tiene experiencia como docente y asesora de investigación en las áreas de Historia de las Artes, Historia y Sociología. Su investigación actualmente aborda artes visuales, transformaciones urbanas, migración, diáspora, relaciones étnico-raciales y género.

Lisandro René Duvergel Smith, Universidade Federal dde Santa Catarina

Licenciado en Derecho - Universidad de Guantánamo (2008). Magíster en el Programa de Posgrado en Historia de la Universidad Federal de Santa Catarina, Brasil, Doctorando en el Programa de Posgrado en Historia de la Universidad aún en curso, es miembro de la Cátedra de Estudios Afrocaribeños (CEA) de la Universidad de Guantánamo, Cuba. Trabaja principalmente en las áreas de docencia Historiografía de las migraciones, Historia del Estado y Derecho y Derecho Constitucional. Ha participado en varios eventos nacionales e internacionales. Tiene experiencia en las áreas de Historia, Derecho y Patrimonio Cultural. Su investigación aborda actualmente la migración jamaicana en el período de la República Neocolonial en Cuba a través de las categorías de estudios: ciudadanía, migración, discriminación racial y mercado laboral.
