Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Files for submission are in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format (as long as they do not exceed 2MB)

  • URLs for references are provided when necessary.

  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors in the About the Journal section.
  • Authorship identification of the paper has been removed from the file and from the Properties option in Word, thus ensuring the journal's confidentiality criteria, if submitted for peer review (e.g., articles), according to instructions available in Ensuring Blind Peer Review.

  • ORCID identification in the system is mandatory.
  • The manuscript must be submitted using the journal’s official template, available in the “Submissions” section under the link “TEMPLATES FOLDER.”

Author Guidelines

SECTIONS

Articles: This section publishes original, unpublished articles, relevant to the journal's thematic area. The articles may contain images, tables and/or graphs, according to the norms of the Brazilian Association of Technical Norms (ABNT). The papers submitted for this section must be between 15 and 25 pages long. All submitted articles will pass by the double-blind peer review.

Dossiers: This section publishes unpublished and original articles, relevant to the journal's thematic area. The dossiers are composed by articles ordered by the Editorial Board members as well as articles received through a public call for submission. Papers submitted for this section should be between 15 and 25 pages long. All submitted articles will go through the double-blind peer review process

Book reviews: Submissions of critical book reviews will be accepted, accompanied by a complete bibliographic reference (minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 pages). It will be accepted reviews of national books with up to two years of publication and international books with up to four years of publication.

Experience Report: This section publishes a description of experiences developed with institutions, communities and/or individuals which present some original aspect related to teaching, research or extension (maximum 5 pages). The structure must contain the following sections: Abstract; Introduction or Background; Development (containing the report and results); Conclusions or Final Considerations; Acknowledgements and Funding Sources (optional); and References (if any).

Interviews: The journal may also publish interviews with outstanding professionals and researchers, at the Editorial Board's discretion (maximum 3 pages).

Articles, dossiers, interviews, experience reports and reviews may be submitted by masters, doctoral students and doctors in the sections; Master's students will be able to publish articles, dossiers, interviews, experience reports in co-authorship with doctorates in the sections, and submit individual reviews.

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively to The Journal of Socioeconomic Development in Debate (RDSD), and may not be submitted simultaneously to another journal. Submissions can be done in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, and abstracts in the respective versions are required. Grammar revision will be the exclusive responsibility of the authors. Anonymity and confidentiality are guaranteed throughout the evaluation process. Submitted manuscripts must comply with the editorial policy of the Journal and with the Instructions to Authors, which follows the ABNT guidelines.

The rights over published manuscripts will be the property of The Journal of Socioeconomic Development in Debate (RDSD). Reproduction, even partial, in other journals in printed or electronic format, as well as translation into another language without the authorization of the Scientific Editorial are forbidden without the authorization of the Scientific Editor.

FORMATTING STANDARDS

1. To submit a paper to the Journal's Editorial Board, you must do so through UFPR's Electronic System of Journals (SEER).

2. Papers should not be identified: author's name, title, institutional affiliation, ORCID and address are registered directly into the system.

3. Format and extension: originals must be written in the official spelling, in "doc" format, or compatible format. Articles should contain a minimum of 15 pages and a maximum of 25 pages (A4 format, with 2 cm margins), and reviews, between 3 and 5 pages. Texts should not be sent in PDF format.

4. Title and subtitle: must be on the first line of the page, centered, in Times New Roman, size 14, and in bold. Articles in Portuguese and Spanish must have a title and subtitle in English; articles in English must have a title and subtitle in Portuguese; articles in Spanish must have a title and subtitle in Portuguese and English. Section titles should be aligned to the left, size 12, lowercase, bold.

5. Font and spacing: Must be used Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 spacing between lines. Quotations in the body of the text should be in quotation marks, and those longer than 3 (three) lines should be highlighted in block, without quotation marks, with 4 cm indentation to the left, font Times New Roman, size 10, with 1 line spacing.

6. Abstract and keywords: On the first page, two lines after the titles, written in the same language of the paper, with a maximum of 250 words, and containing three to five keywords. The abstract must be accompanied by its version in English. In case of other languages, the abstract in Portuguese is mandatory.

7. If the research has financial support from any institution, this must be mentioned in a footnote, identified by an asterisk (*).

8. Footnotes: they must be numbered throughout the text and used only when necessary.

9. Bibliographical references: must come at the end and, throughout the text, must be indicated by the system (AUTHOR DATE):

a. For books and monographs: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Author's first name. Title in italics: subtitle (if any). Place of publication: Publisher, date, number of page(s) cited, if any.

b. Chapters in collections: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Author's first name. Title of the chapter. In: Organizer's LAST NAME, Organizer's first name (org.). Title of the book in italics. Place of publication: Publisher, date, initial and final page numbers of the chapter, number of quoted page(s), if applicable.

c. For articles in periodicals: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Author's first name. Title of the article. Title of the journal in italics. Place of publication: Publisher, volume, issue number, initial and final pages, date, number of quoted page(s), if applicable.

10. Unpublished originals will not be returned. The works must, obligatorily, observe all the items above, otherwise the submission will not be accepted by the Editors.

Ethical considerations

The research described in the submitted manuscript must be presented with a declaration of responsibility for the content, confirmation of originality, and non-use of automated article writing software. The copyright transfer agreement and the disclosure statement of potential conflict of interest must be duly authorized online (available at the link "Copyright Statement" on the journal's website).

We inform that in this way the authors will continue to hold the copyright.

We inform that the publishing rights will be assigned to RDSD.

The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not under consideration for publication by another journal; otherwise, it should be justified in "Comments to Editor".

Artigos Livres

Esta seção publica artigos inéditos e originais, de relevância à área temática da revista. Os artigos poderão conter imagens, tabelas e/ou gráficos, conforme normas da Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas. Os trabalhos enviados para esta seção devem ter entre 15 e 25 páginas. Todos os artigos submetidos passarão pelo processo de avaliação double blind peer review.

The names and addresses informed in this journal will be used exclusively for the services provided by this publication, and will not be available for other purposes or to third parties.
