Conservation Units have proven to be a prosperous destination for ecotourism, since there has been a considerable increase in visitors in recent years, knowing the profile of the public that visits the units is extremely important, since there can be an improvement in management and public policies in view of the target audience. Based on these circumstances, the study aimed to (i) characterize the profile of visitors to the São Joaquim National Park and (ii) their environmental perception of the conservation unit. The study was conducted at the Access Portal to the Mirante da Pedra Furada during the summer of 2021/22 and the winter of 2022, applying 1150 questionnaires, of which 1121 were validated. It was found that most visitors (32.7%) are between 30 and 39 years old. 24.4% said they had an income of more than 12 minimum visits and more than 45% had completed higher education, only 8% of visitors would not pay to visit the attraction. The average profile of visitors is 40 years old, university graduate, high income and accompanied. Most are from Santa Catarina and have high environmental awareness.
