Abstract: The present work aims to carry out a theoretical analysis of the assumptions used to construct one of the main developmental models, the Lewis Model, seeking to reflect on whether the structuring theoretical basis of the model is adequate for the representation of peripheral economies, given their subjectivities regarding the process of economic development.
