Entre escândalos e moralizações: a construção do mercado de dados pessoais no Brasil

The article is grounded in two fundamental questions: Why a General Data Protection Law, rather than a law focused on the intimacy or privacy of users? And what led to the approval of one bill over so many other proposals? Drawing on the lens of the Sociology of Markets, the research combines a theoretical review with documentary analysis of bills proposed between 1981 and 2010, as well as a series of publicly available interviews.
