“Pai Presente” em um país de sub registro: algumas notas

The rate of paternal under-registration in our country is high and there are many reasons for this. One of the main reasons is that paternity is treated as episodic and optional, while maternity is compulsory. The “Present Father” project, proposed by the National Council of Justice, aims to reduce the incidence of this paternal absence in the civil registry. The aim of this article is to critically analyze the project, discussing its importance and the gaps in its proposal.
